Bezanson Auctioneering is a family business that has been providing auction services for over 30 years. Our auction items varies from fine antiques and collectibles to modern everyday goods. We sell farm equipment related items, livestock and vehicles. We accept consignments from all over Nova Scotia. Most of our auctions are held at our auction center which is located in the beautiful little community of Victoria Vale which is close to the Bay of Fundy. We offer on-site auctions when requested. Bezanson Auctioneering hold monthly auctions and in the busy season twice a month. We are happy to help you downsize, sell a complete estate or even sell just one item for you. If you have any questons, please contact Laurie Or Rick.
Rick was living in British Columbia when he decided he would attend World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City Iowa. Rick graduated in 1984 and shortly after returned home to Nova Scotia. He started out selling every charity auction he could in Nova Scotia, which led to the start of selling estate auctions. As the business grew, Rick and Laurie purchased the Elementary School that was being sold in their community and turned it into the auction center. The charity auctions helped the Bezanson family become as successful as they are, so it seemed only fitting that the first auction at the new auction center be a fundraising charity auction. Early in 2005 Bezanson Auctioneering raised almost $5000.00 for the victims of the Boxing Day tsunami.
Besides the auction business, Rick and Laurie have a small hobby farm. With the help of their two children Colton and Abigail they have Charolais cross beef cattle and registered Quarter Horses. If that doesn't keep them busy enough, Rick is by trade a carpenter specializing in building barns.
Abigail is the daughter of Rick and Laurie and started early in the business. She started running slips and then working in the canteen with her grandmother. She worked at the registration desk handing out bid numbers and one day decided she would give the auctioneering a try. She will sell at each auction for awhile and then manage the front desk. She has been selling charity auctions for a couple years on her own. She has helped her father sell the Ducks Unlimited Auction in Digby, and sold the auction for the Annapolis Valley Exhibition in 2018.
At the present time, Abigail is a full time student studying LPN.
